If it is on the 51 ford there should just be a c -clip that pops out from behind the dash.
I had to check your Gallery to see what year you are working on so I hope this is the one.

On choke cables just got to slide them up the cable from the back and cram your hand in there, kind of turn or flick at them with whatever part of a finger you can get near there. some are easy to reach, some are hardly accessable. The best deal is if you can take the front part off and slip it in from the bach with the nut on, then thread it on the front. Last one I did I used a modern replacement cable (NAPA) and had to cut/break/grind the crappy looking **** off (it was not threaded-press fit..) I threaded the metal and put an "old looking" **** on there.
The orginal cables in my 51F1 were all rusted and I couldn't get the nuts off either. I just pulled the cable out of the housing and drilled out the center to release the front flange. I drilled the hole stepping up drill sizes till the flange came loose so as not to make it too big and damage the dash.
Anyone have tricks for getting to the nuts behind the dash on the cables?
Your year of truck will dictate how to go about doing that as they have different ways of being removed & w/o knowing What year your truck is......
Please list the YEAR of your truck in the HEADER of your Message as indicated in the STICKY.
