What are you looking to do? You can always go Edelbrock for $1400., or you can just rebuild what you have.... Remember, to really maximize the head flow characteristics, it would be better to build up to a 390. You will want to stick with something offering the smaller combustion chambers that your current heads have (probably C8ae-h or D2te-aa) to keep the compression up in the 360 or it will really fall flat.
It would be best to either have yours redone (all new valve guides, new valves, valve seat job), or if yours are destroyed for some reason, go to the junkyard and get a set of D2TE-AA heads with the induction hardened exhaust valve seats, and have those redone. Be sure to tell the machinist they're only induction hardened though, and not to grind too much on them.
The junkyard is good, but there are a couple of head rebuilder like clearwater and such. Some of those require a core and others don't.
A 360 and 390 head is the same. The c8ae-h and and d2te are going to be the most common heads available. They are of equal performance value, neither is really better than the other. The biggest difference is the d2te and hardened exhaust seats and the c8ea-h doesn't. I have d2te's but got new valve seat inserts anyways.
The early FE heads will also fit, and provide good performance. Be aware of the FT heads though, the look like FE heads but have smaller ports and valves.
Incase you haven't noticed, we are all about performance!!
