The gauge is driven by the instrument panel computer. It gets the temperature info from the PCM. You'll need to modify the software in one or both of them to do what you want.
i suggest getting an aftermarket guage. the factory one would be hard to reprogram since it is basically an idiot light and would have to do it through the computer. an aftermarket guage is around $50-100 and very easy to install
I just thought it would be cool to make the idiot gauge actually work. If someone figured it out it might not be that hard to pass it around and share it.
As far as the aftermarket gauge, I already have three gauges on my pillar. Do they make a 4 gauge pillar?
