injectors or bb turbo? which would be better

on my way to the doctor today, the engine just blew, no warning, no noise, crusing at 70 herd (more like felt) a big thump, looked back and saw the streak of oil the interstate. now since im gettin a new engine, i either want a BB turbo or some aftermarket injectors. just wanted to get some opinions. Ive got a 4 inch dp and exhaust, kwik filter, and a edge evolution and edge juice. also i can get a brand new engine from work, (i work at a ford dealer) for $6300 my cost just wanted to know if i would be better off going to international dealership or someware else. thanks

I think you should get the turbo. EGT's a lot lower and better breathing.

If the new engine has PM rods, get forged ones first.......

THEN get stage II's AND the turbo.

Woo hoo.

That's tough. I think the injectors would be easier to change with the engine out, the turbo can easily be done with the engine in. But, you'll need a turbo to support the injectors. Also, a BB turbo is more of an upgrade for a pretty stock engine. If you're doing injectors, a bigger turbo might be in order, an ddepending on how big of injectors, a bigger/dual HPOP may be needed too.

It all depends on how much you want out of your engine. If you plan to stay pretty basic, the BB turbo would be the choice.

i agree with cleatus. if you are going to be making some power, you need forged rods, from an engine 10-16-2000 or older. if you are getting a newer one, than go ahead with the BB turbo because the engine's rods wont be reliable over 400RWHP.

id like to shop around but theres a nice hole missing out of the side of the block right where it meets the oil pan the piston got cocked sideways in the cyl and made a nice grove in it. where can i get some forged rods at i cant order them from ford i just get what they got, and i doubt the ones they have are forged

You might get ahold of beans diesel performance in tennessee and see what it would cost to build you an engine with forged rods. IMO your wasting money if you buy from ford.

At this point, I think I'd be most interested in WHY the engine blew. PSDs aren't known to be particularly delicate.
