Question Code Alarm interacting with Auto-lock feature?

I recently had an alarm system installed on my 2005 F-250.
The manufacturer is, I believe, Code.

Prior to installation, I had disabled the auto-lock feature
on the truck's standard keyless entry system. Auto-lock
causes the doors to lock when the engine is started,
and unlock when stopped. I find this feature annoying.

But, after the alarm system installation, I noticed that
auto-lock was again enabled. So, I punched in the necessary
keypad codes to disable this feature. But, now I find that
when I press the key fob to arm the alarm, I do not hear
the horn/beep that is supposed to accompany the arming.
I have not tested to see whether the alarm is actually armed
(that is, I have not tried to set it off), but I am assuming
that it is not arming.

Does anyone know whether the auto-lock feature is required
for the alarm to arm and operate ?

No its not.Your alarm proabley has the feature on it as well. You will have to look thru your alarm manual to see how to turn it off.My alarm had it and it was easy to turn off.

Hmmm, there's nothing in the sparse alarm system manual about this.

I've sent a message to Code Systems to inquire. I'd ask the dealership,
but right now their accessories dept isn't taking calls.

We'll see...

blueeyes2478 is right on the money, Code alarm comes with autolock enabled from the factory, it can be disabled through programming. On my 04 autolock only locked the doors, never unlocked which drove me crazy. On my Code alarm, it locks and unlocks the doors automatically which I do like.

This may be it, then. I've had the standard auto-lock disabled
for so long I can't be sure whether it unlocked as well. I know
it does now, and it sounds like that's the alarm system pitching in.

So, I guess the question becomes: How do I disable auto-lock
on the alarm system? There's nothing in the manual regarding it.

I would need acess to the installers manual to tell you that.Normally the tech do not give you the installation manual, cause they want you to return to get some extra $$$$$$$.But if you just bought it they might not charge you to change it.
