The one I'm looking (and looking and looking) at has the heavy payload pkg and the plow pkg. This one seems to sit higher in both the rear and the front than a regular 150 4x4 with an 8 ft bed. It still sits nose down.
Does anyone know why, or if for sure, that the heavy payload and plow pkg makes the truck sit higher?
I've looked this truck over from every angle for two weeks now and I'm pretty sure it does.
I've also noticed that a lot of folks have installed leveling kits to theirs. Is this for looks alone?
I'm not really into mods, but they do look much better leveled.
they sit up in the rear because it is a truck and they are built for towing and hauling , when it is loaded down it should sit level the leveling kit is for looks it will also make it so when your truck is loaded down that it is acutally higher in the front than in the rear
yea but most of the time, the truck does not haul or tow (at least for me). So unless for the time when I do haul or tow, yes the front wil be higher than the rear. But for the most part, 99% of the time, with the leveling kit, the truck will look levled and cosmetically appealing.
My son had this STX while in college and decided to crank up the front end by turning the torsion bars and getting it aligned afterwards. He wanted it level. Now I'm driving it. Not really sure I want it this high. Thinking about bringing it down, but like the view from up there.
If you have ever dealt with people in "styling" people at an OEM. I am confident it is more about they way someone thinks a truck stance should be for visualy purposes. Of course this person probably drives a Lincoln Towncar or Jaguar and has more than likely never had or been in a truck, or off road.
