lowering 61 stepside
Totally new to this chat thing, so excuse any mistakes.
I have a bone stock ex forest service shortbox stepside truck. It has the original 223/3 on the tree combo. In fact, I think that this truck has about 90k original miles on it and has never been touched.
My plans are to clean it up with a bed kit, paint and seat cover. I really am not a purest or anything, but it would be kinda cool to keep it mostly stock.
The big question is how to lower it. I would like to get it as low as possible without carving up a nice stock truck. I have done some research and think that the 4" drop mono leaf is about the cleanest way to go front and back. It looks like that will set me back around a thousand dollars not counting shocks and any other front end work, etc. that might be needed.
What do you think? Is there a better, cheaper, easier, more safe or stable way?
