My question has to do with my 2002 Supercrew (4X4). I've recently replaced my front rotors due to warpage. At the time I also thought my Idler Arm needed to replaced, so I replaced it with a Moog unit. Both of these repairs were made approx. 2 months ago. After making these repairs my truck still doesn't feel as solid as it was when it was new or even 1000 miles ago. Something feels loose in the front end and I can't put my finger on it. The truck just doesn't feel solid, especially when I hit a bump in the road or drive over railroad tracks, something feels loose. Yesterday I noticed a sound coming from the front end, I first thought it was my centercap on my wheel (aftermarket wheels) making the noise but it wasn't, I'ts now making a clicking sound.
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
I just did upper and lower ball joints on my '99 4x4. Got it aligned yesterday and what a difference! I knew it was sloppy, but didn't realize to what extent. Truly is like a new truck! Something to consider.
Thanks for the information. Ok, 3 replys and they all point to my ball joints, anyone else?
I don't know if it matters but I failed to mention I have a 5" RCD lift kit installed and I'm running LT315/75-16 tires.
With respect to worn ball joints, would a worn ball joint make noise? The noise becomes louder when the steering wheel is fully turned to the left or the right.
I would check the ball joints, but first I would rotate the tires. Worn tires will really fake you out and make you think something else is wrong. But having the lift on will ware thinigs out a lot quicker than normal.
