This is a pretty odd ball question, but does anyone know the power inverter would be located on a 1998'ish ford ambulance? one just poped into my local junkyard and id like to grab ahold of it. Thanks.
cube van or regular? My 85 cube van we got for a work truck has it in the front cabinet on the ps side. Battery conditioner control is under the pass seat
Not all ambulances have an inverter, and they vary WIDELY on mounting location. It's something that has to be ordered with it depending what/where the unit will be used for. Ex....Most private (for profit) ambulance companies will have them because of the need to power ventilators, IV pumps, monitor battery chargers, etc for extended transport times. Most volunteer outfits do not run those types of calls, and do not need that additional equipment for emergency runs that usually terminate at a fairly close hospital. Also, thery're fairly expensive. So if it was in working order, it was probably removed before the ambulance was junked.
Having said that (sorry), the majority of them are either behind one of the front seats, under the airway seat (captains chair directly behind the drivers seat), or mounted behind the cabinetry down beside the airway seat. It should be easy to tell if it had one, because there will be a bunch of wires in a bundle with a battery cable.

There happens to be a Ambulance at a local scrap yard here must be the season for parting out Emergency Vechicles. I was reall eyeing the axels on it but sounds like the inverter is another hot item.
