Thinking about getting an 04 SCREW. the only thing is the box size. Do they only come with a 5.5' box or are there some rare 6.5' out there. Also on the 2000-2003 models, whats the box sizes on the four door of those pickups. and is 1 foot that big of a difference? thanks all
All ford Supercrews prior to this year ('06) only came with a 5.5" box, and that includes the '00-'03 F150 Supercrews as well.
The '06 F150 Supercrews have 3 box options, Standard Styleside 5.5", Styleside 6.5", and a Flareside 6.5".
In all honesty I've owned all types of F150's and F250's with all types of box configurations (with the exception of flareside). I've never came across any thing that I couldn't put in either '02 F150 Supercrew or my now current '04 Supercrew. Quads, motor cycles, fencing posts, 4x8 sheets of plywood, loads of 2x4's, etc, have all found thier way into my truck at one time or another.
The difference is having the end gate up or down, and having to use a few ratcheting straps. I always use straps any way, even with the end gate up.
The difference in '00-'03 Supercrews and '04+ Supercrews in terms of box size are pretty significant. The '04 + Screws have more available volume as they are wider and taller than the boxes on the '00-'03 Screws. You'll quickly see that the endgate on the newer Screws are also much wider, and that the box sides are straight instead of curved compared to the previous generation of F150 Supercrew.

You can only get a screw with a 6.5", starting this year. The box sizes on the 2000-2003 is the standard 5.5", but the bed depth is quite a bit less on the previous years. There is more cubic room on the 04+ trucks.
The 06 Screw with the 6.5' bed is gonna be a long truck, maybe throwing off the visual dynamics of the 4 door, with a little more useful room than the 5.5'. Rangerman is right, with the gate down, you can move just about anything a 6.5' bed can. I've only seen "above" top-down photos of the 6.5' Screw in ads, nothing from the sides. I think the 6.5' Screw Flareside would be a VERY strange looking truck, IMO.
I think the Supercrew 6.5' box chasis is based on a the Supercab with a 8' box chasis (the numbers escape me at the moment). I really don't think that turning would be that bad, but it would be wider than the standard Supercrew with a 5.5' box.
Personally I'd let the price determine the decison versus box size.
