Sensor question?

I bought a new ICP fuel sensor off ebay and cannot find where this thing is? I have a 99 f350 7.3 and thought it was on the rail on the driver side, but this i think is the one for oil pressure...not the same type anyway. Then i thought maybe the one on the front side, but that one turns out to be the exhaust back pressure one, same look though.......where is this fuel sensor located??? I was told drivers side by the fuel filter...but can't see anything.

Wolftan- Did you check the sensor on the front of the engine. There is one above the water pump with its bracket attached to a blank off plate. Therefore it would be on the front center of the engine below the fuel filter. Would help if you can tell if it is a 2 wire or 3 wire connection. Going off your part # hard to tell. If this isn't it let us know and I'll dig into it a little more.

That is where i thought it was....front center in front of filter, but that one is the ebp (exhaust back pressure)....which is also a 3 wire clip.

Make sure you have the right sensor, they both (EBV,ICP) look almost exactly alike but here is the location of the ICP fuel sensor

The ICP sensor is located on the driver side cylinder head towards the front of the engine. The cylinder head is the part where the rocker covers bolt to. The ICP sensor is ahead of the high pressure fuel line and to the right of the fresh air inlet from the air filter when looking under the hood.

Remove the air filter cover by unclipping the air box cap and remove the large hose clamp to the rear. After removing the air box cover, put the large hose clamp aside so that it does not get bent out of shape. Now stuff that air inlet tube as far over to the passenger side as you can to allow room for your hand to reach the ICP sensor.

Should be up top driver's side next to the engine hoist bracket. I'll try to get a picture. Your air inlet tube may not be in the way on your model depending on what type of intake system you have. Some of the E-series vans they have to be removed as stated above. At first glance I thought your post stated E350 so that is why you got the long drawn out instructions above. F350 you should see it with no problem.

Part # appears to be correct so here is a picture of the location and the fuel filter is to the left of this picture. Pic taken facing the truck. Your ICP probably looks like this one but I think there may have been a design change that makes it look alot like the ebv sensor. Pic should help you out much better.....

That is where i thought. I guess i have the new one then....wonder if that will fit? . I have 165k miles and getting somewhat poor acceleration, mechanic told me i might try and replace this part......so it was either $160 at the dealership or $40 on ebay. Thanks for the pic....you have been extremely helpful!

What are some symptoms of a bad ICP? Will it throw a code?
