We bounce back and forth on how much a 150 can do. This weekend I had to pick up some stone for a patio I am working on. I put 3000 in the bed of the truck and another 3000 on the trailer I was towing.
The truck didn't struggle even a little ... although it did fix the issue of the bed being higher than the front.
I thought the payload was well under 3,000lbs on our trucks? I remember when I had a Dodge HEMI for couple of weeks, I went to home depot and bought two pallets of paving stone. 3,800lbs each. Made two trips of course. The payload was 3,900 on the Hemi and with 4 men, averaging at least 200lbs for us, that was 4,600lbs. The guy asked me if I was sure about loading the pallet and I have him the ok. The leafs took the weight fully and I drove that thing home with no problem...It did sway back and forth since it was a rental and whoever had it before, burned out one of the tires (no lockers) so with all that weight back there, the truck swayed crazy on the highway. But job well done. I didnt know our trucks had a payload close to 3,000lbs? I thought it was less than 2,000. Flame on
