The check engine light on my 94 Ranger with the 4.0 engine came on a day or two ago has has not gone off. Since it is a 94 I am assuming it does not have an ODB-II check point for a scanner. Is there another way to get the code that has tripped the CEL?
Find a paper clip or ANALOG voltmeter, get your Haynes manual out--turn to Chapter 6, I believe, and read needle sweeps from the voltmeter or the actual check engine light flashes. Then consult Haynes manual for the code numbers and come back to us if you need help deciphering the codes you find.
