Axle question
So I just pulled axles off of a 89 f350 4x4. They look to be a Dana 60 FF high pinion up front a FF 10.25 in the rear. The tag is gone of the axles any idea what the gear ratio would be. The vin is 1FTHF36G0KNB53197. Any help would be appreciated.

from what I understand, you need the tag that came off the diff. or the front diff.
you can check the gears in the pumpkin along with the spline count.
chiltons can help along with a stop by the local ford dealer, I went the one here in town and they showed and printed spec's for me.

You'd need either the diff tag or the sticker on the door jam with the axle code.
They are the axles you identified.
Most likely it's a 3.55 rear and 3.54 front - that is the most common...
The easiest way would be to rotate the axle shaft and count the pinion rotation...
Another way is to take the cover off and look for the ratio stamped in the face of the pinion gear.

on dana axles on the long tube, some where on the under all the gunk there is a bill of materials number. it will tell you what you have, find then number and then look it up on here

Axel isn't listed in the Vin. If you had door code from the jam sticker someone would be able to do it quickly. Is there any series of numbers on the right side of the cover on the shaft? But that vin breaks cown as such. I hope any of the following helps.
