Hello
New to this site but not Ford trucks. Hope sombody out there could help me with a measurement. Need to know how wide the it is, outside to outside of the front tire tread on a 1986 F150. I bought one and have to pick it up. Would like to move it with tow dolly and need to know if it will fit. Unfortunatly I can't get the measurement through the guy I bought it from.
it will vary, depending on what kind of tires he has on the truck. the most common is probably a 235/75/15 and a 31x10.5. of course, if the truck has oversized tires, it could be even bigger. if it's pretty much stock, you should be safe with a dolly that will handle a 10.5" tire width.
The tow dolly I have will fit 31 x 10.5's. Just not sure about the overal width outside of left wheel to outside of right wheel. Think that it would be around 73". Tires on truck are 235-15's.
Thanks
No its 4x2. Actually I just got back with it. Tread to tread its 73".
This just fit on the tow dolly. Actually one tire was riding high on the pan for the first 10 miles and then settled in. Towed fine. Seems this truck has a weak starter. It will turn engine slowly with the plugs out but not at all with them in. Tried boosting and bypassing the soleonid, makes no differance.

Check the ground wire from the battery to the engine.
