Question for your 2150 gurus

I can't seem to get any fuel flow thru the boosters. I checked the fuel bowl, and it has fuel going in, and the passages are open, but there isn't any going through the boosters. The only way the truck will run is if I dump gas down the carb.
Any ideas?

How long has the carb been sitting? It sounds like there is some varnish in the passages.

Do you think it is in the booster passages themselves? I took it out of my parts truck, and who knows how long it sat in that thing. Could I just soak the booster assembly in carb cleaner for a while?

i would rebuild the entire thing. soak and clean the carb with brake cleaner. a new kit is 15.00. i really enjoy working on the 2100/2150 carbs.

I DID rebuild it. That is the problem. I am pretty meticulous, so that is why I am stumped. I would have blown out the booster assembly, but my air nozzle is too big. Maybe I will resoak it and try to manually hollow out the orifice leading up to the booster with a pin or something.
Any better ideas on how to clean that tiny brass tube that extends down in to the carb from the boosters?
Also, 390, what is the orientation of the checkball and weight. I looked at a vague diagram, and would have put it together the way I took it apart, but the ball was actually wedged in another part of the booster housing and there was no weight.

if you remove the air horn you will see the very large flathead screw which holds down the booster assembly. remove the screw and and booster. the weight and check ball go in the hole the big screw threads into. the ball goes first then the short steel rod goes next. its critical you don't pinch the rod when tightening the screw.

390, thanks for the insight on the weight.
KO, I did clean it, and manually blew out every orifice. Today, I took the booster assembly off, and went over it again.
If you pump the accel pump, it flows in the ball cavity where the big screw goes. It appears that the fuel for the boosters just seeks bowl level and sits in their cavities waiting to be picked up by the booster.
So, I am still stumped. The accelerator pump will shoot a stream like it should, but the truck won't run. There is some secondary orifice that shoots UP at the booster, and appears to be regulated by the metering rods that are actuated by the throttle shaft cam.
Still can't make it work though
