Gauge Pod Poll

cant decide whether to get the a-pillar or the overhead pod. need help. One downfall to a-pillar is the blindspot it creats(i have wind visors...so it makes it even bigger.) Does it even creat a blind spot? which is better and easier to see? dont forget to type why yes and no. Thanks

I'd go A pillar but I'm a mimalist. I dont like things in my field of vision when I'm driving. I don't even hang stuff off the rear view like parking permits or radar scanners. I'd rather look over or doen to see guages. If you're tall, I'd go with the A pillar as well, as the overhead will be more in your direct field of view.

I have a quad A-Pillar Pod...honestly it does not restrict my vision at all. I plan on also getting an overhead for a couple extra gauges that I also want to run. The only thing with the overhead pod is you will need to extend the wiring on the gauges because I have heard they are too short for this application.

If its an illumination problem you are concerned about ...Autometer has LED replacement bulbs for the Ultra lites. I'm running 4 green ones...nice and bright and also match the illumination on my dash.

i have the overhead 4 gauge , volt, tran temp, water temp, diff temp, does not block any view as it fits in back of the superduty logo on the windshield. wires run up the a piller , length added, needed the "a" piller grabhandle to get in !

When I finally get around to installing gauges I am going to get the above the mirror pod. I don't want to lose the grab handle on the A-pillar. I use it to pull myself into the cab all the time.

I have the X-Monitor. It is a digital gauge that has pyro, boost, and tranny all in one compact unit. It lets you keep the A Pillar handle.

I had the bullydog outlook monitor standalone. I just sold it. Im getting the new Stewart Warner gauges we are selling. Im thinking Pre Turbo, Post turbo, Boost, trans temp. The Chameleon light system is awsome. Probably black, but the silver is sweet as well. Probably just get black to match the factory ones. Too many choices. THere is a new style too called IMPACT.....getting pics of them soon. Its a tuff decision. Larry's Excursion has the A pillar and its not in the way at all. Good luck. If you hit the Lotto you could get the Auto meter Nexus system lol only about 1k hehehe

I REALLY like the A-pillar pod. IMO its the only one that looks like it 'belongs' there.

Having said that... I mounted mine under the dash... I wanted to keep my grab-handle

That looks like a nice unit. How do you like it? Is it comparable in price to getting a pod and all the gauges? Easy to install?

Are these mounted on the fuse panel cover? Ever have any trouble seeing them through the steering wheel? Do you ever hit them with your knees getting in and out?
