I'm looking for a late 60's to mid 70's 460 and C-6 to go in my 74 F350 Super Camper Special, that I tow a 14,000lb 5th wheel with. I'm heading to the junk-yard this weekend, (I want a torque monster) I'm looking something to rebuild and beef up so what years should I look for and out of what models and which should I stay away from? TIA

Look for a block with the casting # D7TE or D8TE. These blocks have four bolt mains

Also, somewhere in this Forum somebody mentioned a Place in California that has a Crank for a 460 that turns it into a 502.

That should provide a little Troque!

What was the first year of the 460's? What is the first year in Ford Trucks?

I didn't think Ford started making the 460 until the 1970's.

William, look for a pre ’79 460. Might try posting in the 385 Series Conference and ask them.
