Hi everyone, does anybody out there that owns a shortbox think that they can do me a real big favor and drop me the dimensions of it, like the length of the toprails, from front to the front of the wheel-well, and back to back of the wheel-well and any other things I may need to know. Thanks,

78 1/4 from the front of the rail that goes behind the cab to where the tailgate would close against, and 22 3/4 from the front of the bed to the front of the wheelwell by measuring along the first horizontal bend/crease up in the sheetmetal from the bottom of the bed in the 1968 style sheetmetal

Just to be clear is this from a fleetside bed? Just wondering all this because im cutting down a long bed to fit on my short bed frame. Thanks,

yeah, dont forget the shortbox bed only has a stakehole at the front and back of the bed.

I asked a similar question a while back and the reply was you have to make 4 cuts, 2 in front of the wheelwell and 2 in back of the wheelwell to get it right. If you search the posts in the bodywork section you can locate the person who can probably go into more detail about what has to be done.
