Hi I got a v8 petrol engine in a F616 truck, how do I find out its size, without stripping it?

 

Paul, What is a F616?? Is it a pickup, dual wheel truck, medium, large?? What year model? Where was it produced?

That is not a USA model for a Ford truck, that I am aware of.

Give us some hints. What year? Tell us whether the sparkplugs all are in the head at the same angle, or do two and two angle toward the middle? How many valve cover bolts in one valve cover. I'm guessing that it's either a FT engine, or a 385 series motor. The FT's (330,359,361,391) are similar to the FE's and have the plugs angled to the middle of the head, and the valve cover goes over more than just the head, it also seals onto the edge of the intake manifold. I believe FT's have the same type valve cover as FE's w/ 5 valve cover bolts. The 385 series motors, are 370,429,460 They have 7 bolts in valve cover. Their plugs all are angled in the same direction.

Its a 1976 model and was exported to the United Kingdom for servicing aircraft at London Gatwick. I will come back about the plug angles.

 

Will you describe the size of the truck? A 76 could have had a FE 360 in it. The bank of sparkplugs look like this \\//.
