Has anyone ever experienced a power surge while braking to a stop?? I have a 2005 F150 Crewcab that this has happened with a few times. I never experienced this with any other vehicles.
happened to me and a few others. This has been a topic before and in most cases it was found to be your foot hitting the gas pedal and brake. Can be scary been there.
I have a 2004 crewcab and mine does it frequently. It is very scary. I'm convined that it is tied to the brake depression. I'm equally sure that I am not depressing the accelerator with my foot.. It happens most ofter when I am starting cold. I took it to our local dealer, with no success.
I've done the "pressing brake and gas at the same time" before... It is scary.. this is the ONLY vehicle that I do that in.. weird...
I had an old jeep Cherokee that would surge when you stepped on the brake. It had something to do with the vacuum booster valve not opening, and forcing pressurized air BACK into the engine (from pushing on the brake) and causing it to rev...
I am not sure if this is possible on the Ford, but who knows..
I've been driving for over 40 years and with my 04 F150 XLT SC with 5.4 auto this is the ONLY car or truck that this has happened to me. At first I thought it was me, as I drive two foot, but then I really started to pay attention to where my feet are at all times and it still happens (power surge). Kind of hard to take it to the dealer with this problem as it is so hard to make happen.
