By the way, a 6.5 Screw wouldn't fit in my garage, so what to do? Buy the new dream truck and leave it outside????
I thought of that too since it won't fit in my garage either. I had to let go of the dream of garaging it because I need the 6.5 foot bed. I guess you can't have the best of both worlds.
Same thing here, went to one dealer and tried to sell me a 5.5 screw, he never mentioned that the 6.5 was an option.Went down the road at another dealer and they had a 6.5. Makes me wonder what these salesmen do all day??

Think you answered your own question. They try to sell what they want the customer to buy, not what the customer wants to buy.
The reason I deal with the salesman I do now is because he will bend over backwards to get me into what I want at a reasonable price.
I just bought one yesterday. I LOVE IT. The ride is great, at least right now it is. Not sure how it will ride once I put 20's and a leveling kit on it. But so far so good.
Last week I picked up my '06 F-150, 5.4L, 3.73, 6.5 ft bed. I love it. Decided to buy-up to the truck I always wanted, so got the Lariat trim package.
I have a 1937 built house with a detached garage, that in the '50s some guy needed more garage space, so blew the back out and added on! I got lucky, while it's a little tight width-wise, it slides right in depth-wise. Luckily my wife drives one of the little hybrid sedans, so the width issues are manageable.
Only downside is 300 miles in and not better than 12MPG... but its a big truck, and I love it too much to care... and MPG is the topic of 50 other threads!
