Hey 51, what exactly kind of truck are you looking at making? Like what kind of hauling truck are you after...? Just thinking that maybe there might be a less involved way to get what you want.

Yes, a new Power Stroke would be less involved.

There would be no way you could fit a powerstroke in a 48-52. It would require widening the frame 4" and severely modifying the cab and front sheetmetal. You might fit it in 53 and up. I barely fit my 302 without modifications.

Preppypryo, I want to be able to toss something like an engine block in the box and not have it fall apart. It would be nice to be able to pull a trailer with that new project on it. I don't see it as very complicated. I'm pretty much just the same amount of work that it takes to install a basic Mustang II suspension it's just I have to remove the crossmemeber. I'm welding a frame extension = they weld boxing plates. I weld in crossmember = they weld in crossmember. I bolt everything on = they have to weld spring mounts and then bolt it together.

Just the thing that annoys me is that people didn't read the entire article. I had one good response from AXRacer about caster. The rest didn't read it. They said why don't you weld the front clip on. That's easier sad than done. You have to make new cab mounts, radiator mounts, bumper mounts, sheetmetal mounts and your wheels are going to stick out 1" more on each side. One guy said why don't you use a Jaguar front end. READ THE ARTICLE DUMMY.

Jaguar? lol And myself I have never just went and welded a fron clip on, buy I know a few guys that have. They said the worst part was actually getting the courage to do it. After they did some measuring it was a breeze. Was always on a carp project too though, that was by no means heavier duty like you are looking for.
