I have seen engines with a bad valve do that it gets fuel and it burns fuel just doesn't make power with that cylinder because it can't make compression. this in turn leads to a cool in comparison exhaust pipe on that cyl. John
Okay guys I will update on my problem.I did a compression test and of course number 2 cylinder had no compression and after futher testing found out it was a valve problem no rings.Anyways after doing the compression test me and dad loosend the rocker arm bolts off just a half turn and wow the number 2 cylinder got compression.I belive I have to long of pushrods when I turn the engine over until the pushrod is at its full rest there should be some play there but I dont have any play.I did a check and the pushrods are standard length 9 5/8 inches long.Just to make sure it wasnt the lifters I bought two new one and replaced them in number 2 and still no play.If the pushrods are standard lenght and the lifters are okay why are the pushrods two long could it be that when someone before me who owned the truck rebuilt it they put a bigger cam in but didnt change the pushrods to make up the difference or maybe the had the heads reworked and when the grinded and cleaned up the valve seats it caused the valves to set further back which then you would need a shorter pushrod. If anyone has any opinions feel free to reply.
