so i just finished up my swap i took a 76 f150 2wd and put the body and motor on my 79 f250 frame its looking great and i just flashed it up today the motor ran great when i took it out of the f150 and everything timing a fuel wise is good, but when i started it today in ran awsome good oil presure, good fuel presure but about 3 mins after i started it she just died and now i have nothing no dome light, lights, ingition buzzer or any power to the thing at all. battery is fine, i checked the wiring everything seems good there then i replaced the solenoid right off the battery, and when i opened to door the dome light came on and when i turned the key the buzzer went for about 2 seconds then all power was cut to the cab again anyone have any ideas?
THanks in advance...
The batteries they have been making for the last 10 years seem to die with no warning like that also.
Batteries don't usually die 100%, even if they short out a cell they will have voltage, just not the 12 your looking for, but if he has nothing it's more than likely a connection.
The battery could be shorting out. you can get power out of it but when you hit the key and the ower surge goes thru it it shorts out and kills everything.
