Could someone gine me a link to this site or give me some info I am planning a rebuild on my 78 400M and I am amazed at the potential of these old smog motors. A buddy of mine has a dyno software and I put in the data for the planned builb using 185cc 3V CHI heads, dual plane intake, stock cam @ 10.5 to 1 compression and beleive it or not 550lbs. of torque @ 2000 rpms holding to 600lbs @ 5000 rpms. and 475 hp at 4800 rpms. At least this is what the software projects. I 'd sure like to break 500 Hp and that stroker kit may be just the thing to get me there without having to go over 5000 rpms.

Tim,
Thanks for the respone. What is your opinion of the chi 3V 185cc heads. I really want to build my torque an Hp at low rpms. I am setting a plan to build my engine and right now the CHI 3v's seem to be the way to go. Any advise?
I am building my 434 motor using Tim's kit. I have the blocked bored .030 over, 4 bolt main caps installed, pistons dished for a 10:1 CR; just got my head stud kit on Friday and will be dropping it off at the machine shop today. I plan on using the CHI 2V heads because they flow better in the low end rather than the upper end like the 3V heads do. I am putting this motor into my 77 F250 4x4 and I will be posting more updates as I make progress!!
