VIN Decoding help needed
Hi,
I have a 78 F250 supercab that I have been trying to get decoded with little luck. It seems you guys are in the know so I was hoping you could help.
Vin # X26SKCE9660
WR - 155
COLOR A
TYPE RVW - 1262
BODY - KDM
TRANS -G
AXLE - B 4J
OPTION
42 - 080
Any help would be greatly appreciated,

WB - 155 =155" wheelbase
COLOR A = Black
TYPE RVW - 1262 [b](actually GVW - F262) is the truck code for weight rating to body of the truck
BODY - KDM Trim Scheme
K = Broadcloth & Vinyl Seat (LGO Interior)
D = Color interior = RED
M = Supercab Styleside
TRANS -G Automatic (C6)
AXLE - B 4 = Dana 60 4.10:1 ratio

Yes the last numbers are over DSO.. If memory serves me correct

That means it was the 80th specially ordered truck by and sent to the Cleveland Ohio Region.

thanks,, the only question is my truck is black and silver with a 460, lariat. I wonder why it doesn't have the engine code?

For 79 :
Silver Poly is code J
Light silver Poly is code N
The engine code is in the VIN#. 4th digit.
I didn't do that part because one digit is missing.
There should be 11 digits.
Are you sure that's a Q for colour ?

Ok I went back out and wiped it off and double checked the vin is
X15JKDH2251
color was AO not AQ
