12 volt permanent wiring help?

I have a 2006 frod expedition & I have a sirius "plug & play" unit I want to permanently mount in my car.

I'm tired of tying up the cig. lighter with powering the sirius as I want my phone charger there.

SO, How can I hard wire the sirius to a constant 12 volt supply w/o/ using the lighter? Can I use the fusebox? How? Other options?

thanks

tj

Here is the question you need to know:

1) Does the cig lighter adapter change the voltage before going to the radio, or does it just pass 12VDC straight through?

If it does, you can just cut off the cig plug and wire it directly into whatever circuit you want.

If it transforms the power down, you need to keep it in place. If you go to radio shack, you can get a female cig plug with bare wires on the end, and wire that into a truck circuit, then plug your radio into that cig plug instead of the regular one.

I wired some accessory stuff into the power window circuit, because it turns on and off with the key. You could also hook it into the regular radio power too.

Either way, it's easy to do. I would just get the extra jack at ratshack and plug it in, then you can remove it later if you want.

If you want to hook it into the window circuit, its easy to find inside the drivers side kick panel.

Let me know if you have any other questions, I'd be glad to help, let me know.
