transmission problems ouch!!!!

I just rebuilt my transmission over the last few weekends. Found very few problems. I think the reason I was having trouble was something had plugged the cooler bypass line. What I found looked like bits of an old gasket or perhaps clutch material from inside the torque converter. All of the other parts in the transmission still had clearly readable part numbers on the fibers. I have to admit that I spent somewhere close to $2,000 doing the job myself. The $400 spent on a transmission jack and stand were dollars well spent. I've done manual tranny rebuild using a standard floor jack. This was so much easier. Spent over $400 getting a billet TC to replace the one I removed. Tomorrow is the Big Day. I'll fill it with fluid and see what happens. Pray for me....

Just a note that I've since put 57,000 miles on my transmission without a single problem or slipped shift. It was well worth the money I spent and I've used almost everyone of the $700 worth of tools that I bought to overhaul other transmissions since then. Those people think I especially got my money's worth out of the tools... ;-)
