Talking Tuner Question For Vic

Installed the micro tuner. Still laughing by the way. My arm hurts from my wife punching me to stop doing the burnouts. The only drawback I noticed is when I turn the cruise off with the brake pedal the truck jerks. Any thoughts on this. Anyone know who sells tires cheap. I'm gona need some

I have had the same experience at times as well. Any thoughts or comments on this would be helpful. Thanks Vic...

I noticed the jerk also when tapping the brake or turning the cruise off. That was probably the most noticable side-effect right after I uploaded. I've never gone back to stock to see if it would go away, but I remember that the cruise function was MUCH smoother when I first bought the truck.

yep

would like to know myself........it is almost scary the first few times. My thought was that the torque was the reason but not for sure.

If the cruise is set at 70 press the pedal to 71 or more and turn off the cruise control switch with your hand. The sudden jerking is no more.

That is the torque converter disengaging. The SCMT locks it in, due to power output and operating stategy I assume. So when you disengage the CC the TC unlocks immediately rather than slipping for a smooth transition. I know when cruising it is better for the TC but when disengaging it is anyone's guess. It is rather annoying but I have found tapping the decel button 1 at a time rather than holding it down, can help manage the abrupt disconnect. Hope this helps.

Thanks for all of the input. I'll live with it. Today I de-tuned it to economy mode because I was worried about my warranty slipping away. I hated the 19.5 miles per gal. (calculated) on a windy day at 70 mph. I also just got done taking off my ventshades because my dealer said it would void my warranty. Sorry, couldn't let that one go either.....

Is there any way to have Super Chips drop the rev limiter on the HP tune? 4K fueled is a little high for my comfort. I guess I could just call them..
Do love the power though.

You can have anything done with a custom tune...

Superchips won't do this.

4k is fine, no worries.

If you insist on a lower limiter, have SCT make you a custom program, but they are not affiliated with superchips.
