well i have a couple of questions here is the horn relay why will my truck back fire every so often when start up, and it is a 4x4 what test can i run to see why mt trucks 4x not engaging
1. Horn relay....I'm not sure you have a relay for it. Check under in the underdash fuse box for the fuse. If I'm wrong, the relay would be in that underhood fuse/relay box.
2. Do you have a Check Engine light on? I don't like guesses, but it could be a bad valve or some other bad ignition component. The timing chain could be stretching and tossing the timing out of whack...who knows.
3. The motor contacts could be dirty. All the 4x4 guys have the same few issues with that stuff. Search for any of many threads about that fix....
