Vacuum

Just put my 76 F250 Camper Special 390 AT AC 2WD back together. Un fortunately I did not mark nor do I know enough about where the vacuum and smog hoses go. Any one know where I might find a diagram or maybe even walk me through it. Most of them have a green or red marking on them. Also I put an RV cam and 1.76 ratio adjustable rockers. Any won know if I created a problem? It will run up to 22-2600 rpm then cut out. I am guessing a huge vacuum leak but any input would be good. And no I did not degree the cam??? I am being told that was a bad idea on my part?

As far as the cam goes, I didn't degree mine and it works fine. I understand the degreeing is to confirm the specs on the cam card. Some cams have a built in advance of about 4 deg and so some will retard it 4 deg. If you got the multi keyway timming gear, you can try different settings and see how you like the performance.

Which vac hoses are you needed help with? I think the vac adv for the dist goes to a thermo-switch on the top of the water opening at the front of the intake and then one to the carb and one to the intake. A vac hose to power brakes would go to the base of the carb or to the intake. A PCV valve hose would also go to the base of the carb or to the intake. If you have a vac reserve can to control heat or a/c, that goes to the intake as well. I think you have a vac hose to the heater control valve from the inside. Some of the aircleaners have a vac hose to them as well, I don't know where that one goes.

Some distributors have vac adv and retard, I'm not sure how those get hooked up.

Let us know what engine it is and which hoses you're talking about.

Vacuum

I am not so worried about the cam as I am the vacuum. I have a 390 stock 4 barrel intake with a "new" Holly 4150 600 cfm carb. I have the thermo vacuum switch on both the water jacket inlet and the intake. The water jacket has two ports where the intake has three. The carb has 2 small and 1 big. 1st small is on the bottom front of carb 2nd small look's like it go's in to the float bowl much higher on the carb. The big is in the lower rear I have the PCV attached to that. There are two more small ports on the power brake port. There is a vacuum canister for the heater/ac in the cab. I can see there is a coffee can on the fender with two ports the canister on the smog pump has 1 and there is one to the tranny along with the distributor. I need a dam road map!!! What you have given me so far will defiantly help. More input would be great If I have not over whelmed every one!!!
