Hello, New to the site. I have a 2000 Limited X since new. 85000 miles, v10, 4:30 traction loc. Only mods are edelbrock IAS shocks and clear corner lenses.
Truck has been trouble free with the only thing I would consider premature wear being the ball joints. I just put in the first set of replacement plugs. That back one on the passenger side was a bitch. Engine was starting to misfire a bit so I figured it was time. Normally, it's so smooth since it's a v10 you can hardly tell it's running. Anyhow, I get to the last one (front / passenger side) and the COP is wet. I look down in the head and I see antifreeze. Turns out the hose clamp on the corner of the manifold was a bit loose and antifreeze was running out. I think the dealer might have disconnected to flush the system a while back and not tightened properly. Anyhow, back to normal and running like a top again. I'm not looking forward to doing that again anytime soon.
Thanks guys. I changed them out with APC clear lenses. Not the high quality of OEM, but I like the look a lot better than the stock. I think they were 60 bucks. Now that Ford makes them, that's the way to go even though they parbably cost 2-3 times the aftermarket ones.
