And the plot thickens! It sounds promising but I think I'll wait a couple of years until they get the bugs worked out. I waited for a 2005 this time and I'm glad I did.
I think it's smart to get away from the electro/hydraulic injector system. Sounds like that motor will be a monster! But, I've already ordered the '06, so I'll just have to be happy with "only" 325hp and 570 ft/lbs of torque. I sure hope they did more testing on this thing than the first 6.0's!
I'll be intersted to see how this will change/increase the GVWR and GCWR of the 250 and 350 trucks. Most of the toyhaulers I've looked at have a GVWR of 15.5K and put SRW trucks over the legal GCWR when loaded to their maximum.
It would be great to have a GCWR of 25.5K for the F-350!
Injectors under the valve cover? Great. I hope they don't have any problems cause you're gonna have to foot a major bill to get a bad injector changed out.
those are good #s, hopefully it will be as reliable as the 6.0 and efficient as well. I am glad I bought another 6.0, hopefully this new truck will look as nice as the current models.
The early Dmax's had problems with their injectors that were in the heads or under the valve covers (not sure) -- anyway they made 'em external from '04.5 on...
Not happy with the extra words on polution control (extra EGR flow??!) and a post catalyst soot trap? How often do ya' hafta' clean that?!
