Another E4OD question
1.Bought 91 7.3L F350 Superduty was shifting hard 1-2 and no tach and E4OD tranny with 5.13 Dana 80 rear end.
2.Replaced VSS..TPS(throttle position)..and tach sensor.
3.TPS and Tach were bad....I set the TPS at 1.0V at Idle. and reset tranny codes
4.Tranny now shifts much better and smoother.
Two questions
A. what controls the kickdown on the E4OD...I think it should be kicking down earlier instead of lugging down so far. Is it RPM related or TPS or something different.
B.Someone check my calculations
E4OD OD has a .71 ratio( I think)
I have a 5.13 rear end with 235/85/16 tires 55mph@2100rpm
I want 4.10 gears in the rear...I have it calculated that I should run about 65mph at 1900-2000 rpm. what do you think??
Oh yeah one more thing...the way I figure it It should shift alot different just with the 4.10 gears too.
I have 14.3 volts at idle which is good.
I am trying to lay my hands on a wiring diagram for a diesel
What Engineer thought it was a good idea to put computers in these trucks anyway..
If anyone has had anything similar please respond it may save me some time
End result is the tranny is in LIMP mode again
