Exclamation my check engine light

I just drove my 88 f150 from WI to ks. My check engine light started to flash on and off and then it started faster and faster until it was stuck on. I droped speed and it repeted itself until it went off completely. I stoped the first chance i got and checked the fluids they where all fine same with the gauges good temp and oil preasure and volts. when i looked at it today i found that the left manifold is cracked. would that have anything to do with it? any help would be great. thanks

It's possible. You need to check the codes.

The check engine light came on in my 88 F250 about a year ago while I was on my way home from work. It stayed on for a few minutes then went away. When I got home I checked the owners manual and it stated that if the light comes on then goes off the computer has noticed a problem but has "fixed" itself. BTW I had a cracked exhaust manifold a few years ago and didn't get the check engine light for that.

check the codes. and i dont think that it fixes itself. i think it stays on as long as the condition that caused it is present. when it is not the light gies off but the code uis stored in the memory.
