Underhood sticker missing

Does anybody know what the timing specifications are for a 1976 Ford F-250? I need the specifications for a 390 ci 4bbl 4 wheel drive engine. The underhood sticker on my truck is long gone. Thanks.

Ah Timing on a 390, ?

The FE forum will have those specs as that's where the engine questions are best asked.

We were just discussing this in another Active thread.

I'll see if I can find it.

I think the setting is 15*BTDC

I have a tune-up spec. manual for older vehicles.
'76 Ford 390 4V (Exc. Calif.)
Plug gap .045
Manual trans. timing 14* BTDC @ 650 RPM
Auto trans. timing 16* BTDC @ 650 RPM

This should get you close.

well most of us FE guys don't run them with more than 12 BTDC and no more than 40 total advance. the sticker is probably long gone because that 390 was not stock so it was swapped over . it had a 360 stock (may still be a 360 unless you stroke check it)
