Optima red top is the one I go with, too. They crank over great in sub zero weather like the others said. I had one in my Jeep CJ when the alternator went out on my way to a weekend campsite. I kept driving with the lights and heater on for two hours. Got me to my site and the next morning it got me to the auto store for repairs. Now I have two in the Jeep and soon I'll have two in the Ford.

I went with W@ll M@rt's best battery, the Maxx-1n i think it is. Pretty cheap and rated at 1000 crank amps. After switching to this battery, I can start the truck without dimming the lights /radio. Its running good after 4 years so far. Even when I parked it for almost a year it still spun that stock starter in cold weather just fine - even though it took about 20 minutes to start the beast.
