Speakers question. I just brought a 2006 F150 XLT SuperCab. The factory speakers leave a lot to be desires to say the lease. Can any one provide me some suggestions for replacing the factory speakers? I would prefer something that's a direct fit replacement of the factory ones. I listen to things a little heavy on the bass side. So I'm seeking recommendations on replacements that carry good bass and mid range. Also the speakers would be my first upgrade. I'm thinking an amp and sub down the road a bit would be nice to. So I'm looking for something that sets me up for that down the road. Speaker budget is around $300 give or take a few. Thanks for all suggestions!
I'd get on Crutchfield.com and check out which ones fit. Their site has a tool where you enter your vehicles specs and they will only show you the accessories that fit. I have purchases two head units through them and have had 100 percent satisfaction. I am also currently deciding what speakers I should get for my truck though, I have a 97 F150 XLT Supercab. I don't know if the speakers are the same size but the old body style had 6 x 8's in both the front and back. Good Luck! schmidty
Thanks, guys for the information on Cutchfield's speaker replacements by vehicle. I'm trying to decide between the Infinity's 6212's and the Polk's 570. I listen to both at the local Circuit City. The Infinity's seem to carry the highs a bit more than the Polk's. But I like a lot of bottom in most of my music so I'm learning toward to Polk's for that reason. I've read some reviews where guys were running the Infinity's in the front doors and the Polks in the rears. Any thoughts about this set up. And thoughts on the Polks 570 versus the Infinity 6812's is very much appreciated.
