Driving Lights?

Anybody know any good driving lights that would improve vision on/off road that would be able to be run off my upfitter switches on a 06 f-350? I'm looking for the most bang for the buck. Any ideas? Thanks for the help.

You should be able to make any driving lights hook up to your switches one way or another. As far as the lights themselves, are you looking for big, small, round, oval, rectangle...? Price?

I would recomend somehow making them run off of a relay (in addition to the switch) powered by the high beam circuit, that way you don't forget and blind someone. This way they will only be on when the high beams are and you can also turn them off completely. It's also a lot easier/safer than fumbling around with an extra switch while driving every time you want them on/off.

Buy some cheap 55 watt off road lights that use an H3 bulb, then swap the bulbs for some 100 watt units. Even if you get a fancy bulb like silverstars, it's still cheaper than a set of Daylighters, and will work just as well if not better. I also run my lights off of a relay that is activated by the high beam switch, so I never have to remember to turn them on and off.

You'd probably be fine with the larger cheapo lights but be careful doing that to smaller/medium ones. Most are just made of plastic and those 100 watters put out some heat, people have melted them before. Even if it just wwarps tham they are ruined. The thing about cheap lights is that, especially if running high watt bulbs, you need to make a new wiring harness for them. Many of them SHARE a single 16 ga. power wire between the two, that's not even enough for 2 55 watt bulbs.

The higher end usually have much better reflectors, are made of sturdier materials and seal better, along with better wiring.
