The Intake gaskets on my friends 460 blew up, and it has a valley pan. I think they failed because the valley pan requires the gaskets to be real thin, I thought maybe some normal gaskets would be better. The parts guy says thats not a good idea. What do you guys think?
I got the valley pan (Fel-Pro) and its good quality but there are rivets holding the pan/gasket/pan together. I dont really like them there because Its not going to let them seal well. Has anybody seen this? should I grind them off?
Dave, I have the same type of gaskets on my 460.
Been on there for 1-year, no leaks.
Just install as instructed. make sure you put RTV around all water jackets.
