That is cool to get such a history from your house.

I like to leave a newspaper under any of my renos. I found a scrap when ripping the bathroom, dated 1994, we bought the house in 95. This previous owner was a bone head.
It's okay I'll do it right the second time.

Actually that is a good idea too, sure would be neat to find that if I had to rip out the floor!

There is a lot of history in an old house. If these walls could talk, but putting down a newspaper with a date is a cool idea.

Speaking of old houses, I'm taking some time off in late April to tear down my folks old house. When we moved there in 1980, it had been abandoned for 15 years. It was the original house that had been added to and added too. We lived in it far around 6 years before we were forced to build. Gonna be weird tearing down a house that I grew up in. Oh well, they need the house gone and I need the lumber. Works for me.

Yeah that sucks full, that would be tough to do. Least you will be getting some lumber from it, and I assume theres a good reason for tearing it down!

It`s a big job to tear down an old building, luckly I have a big Bobcat and two Ford dump trucks when I tear down our old house some day.
Fifteen years ago I tore down our old barn as I couldn`t afford to fix it to save it. Now I wish it was still here as now I could afford save it, it was a nice huge building. It`s gone forever except for all the memories of it and the times with dad.
We still have another barn on the farm but some how it`s not the same.
