Is there some where we can write to find out the early history of our vehiciles? Like where they were first made and sold and equipt with stuff. Tks~JH~
Yeah, this information has long been lost. The only records Ford has left are records from '67 and newer, I believe. But even then they just research and send you a letter indicating options and such, called a History 999 report. You could always try to trace the truck's prior owners, hopefully you can get some info, but most of the original owners of our trucks have probably passed away already.
Factory literature has been reproduced through the years, notably in the '70's
and '80's, by various authors and publishers. Look for these publications in Hemmings Motor News, etc., and sources such as The Early V-8 Club, or book vendors at
swap meets. These guys are good recources and should also be able to refer you
elsewhere.

Yeah, the original owner's manuals and the like are still available, and you can still find original literature on sources like eBay, but none will ever specifically tell you what was optioned on the truck, or the history of the truck.
At least with trucks this old it's usually pretty easy to tell what they were optioned with. The list of options was not very long, and most trucks came with few, if any options.
