L&L uses some really weird nickle coating or something to that effect. It's not quite shiney like chrome, looks more like a silver spray paint but it doesn't come off and doesn't rust. If you ceramic coat them it voids the warranty. If I had any other headers I'd get them ceramic coated. I'm going to just built my own set next time around.
Sound like a proprietary coating called Jet Hot. It works.
SO are the fender well exit a better Idea then the inframe? I mean I want headers but like space too is there any problems by haveing fender well exit header?
The only issue some guys run into with fenderwell exit headers is their tires will rub them and reduce turning radius. This really has to do with the configuration of the truck in terms of tire size and lift (if any). I don't have any issues with them rubbing because of my lift. I know there are some guys running them that had to turn out their steering stops a bit to keep the tire from touching at full turn. If you keep the plastic fender liner you'd probably need to trim it back so it doesn't melt. That's about it though. I like not having any of that junk between the frame rails. It makes work on the truck 10X easier than it was before.
