Unhappy Glow Plug issue

I have a 91 F-350 with an 83 6.9 using motorcraft/beru zd1a glow plugs on the 91 relay with push button to activate. Replaced all 8 plugs on Sunday and truck started once. Just checked and getting power to all eight plugs but appear to have no continuity thru the plugs. Put test light on positive batt terminal and touched to plug spade terminal it did not light. What are the odds of all eight plugs being bad out of the package. Bought at Autozone on Sunday and they tell me sorry nothing we can do. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Should have used ZD9s with the 91 controller, but that would require different ends on the GP wiring. You may have held them on too long, that would burn them out.....

This may seem like a dumb question, but are you sure the test light is working? How long are you pushing the button to activate gps?

The controller is bypassed. Held them approx 10-12 seconds at 13deg outside temp.
Does anyone know where to get the ends for the ZD9 plugs. Yes the test light is working if I ground to the head by the plud it lights.

.173 female crimp connectors fit on the end of the ZD9's quite nicely

It turned out to be 8 bad glow plugs. The only thing I can think of was when I first installed the new plugs I hooked up the controller. If it stuck in the on position would that cause the plugs to burn out? Thanks everyone for all the ideas. when I change them again I will go back to the ZD9 and replace the harness it is only $80 for the entire harness from relay to plugs.

Yes it would burn them right up.

If you were to turn them on without being installed you would see it is red hot in 3 seconds or less.
Almost white hot in 10 seconds.
