I have a stupid question guys but I'd rather ask it than screw up my engine. Ok when buying fuel injectors would it hurt the engine in anyway to put some on with more lbs of presure? For example....
Accel Fuel Injectors Fuel Injectors, 15 lbs./ hr., 14.4 Ohms Impedance, 12 V Saturated Circuit Driver, Universal, Set of 6
VS
Accel Fuel Injectors Fuel Injectors, 21 lbs./ hr., 14.4 Ohms Impedance, 12 V Saturated Circuit Driver, Universal, Set of 6
Would I get better performance? I asume I'd get worse MPG with the high lbs?
Those ratings are actually flow rates in pounds of fuel per hour. Unless you have a need for more fuel than your current injectors can provide, just stay with them. The larger injectors just allow for a higher fuel flow potential.
Just switching to larger injectors will make the engine run rich, the computer "knows" how much fuel gets injected when it fires an injector, but more will get put in than it expects. The computer can adjust to a point, but when it's cold it will run very rich, and may set codes when warm. An adjustable fuel pressure regulator can be used to set the proper fuel amount if you plan on modifications later.
