83 F100 302 has so much blowby that i have to unhook the blowby hose from my air cleaner because it's saturating the air filter. I've chanbed the pcv valve for the 2nd time to make sure that wasn't it.
Blowby is a good indication that the rings are bad, but I did a compression check and got 135 on all of them. I don't understand how there's so much blowby with that good compression.
HMMMM, very good answer. I never thought of that. I'm thinking of just going ahead and doing a rebuild, but first I want to get an oil pressure gauge and see what that is.
I also had a significant blowby problem on my 1986 302.
The compression check was good, but I tore the engine anyway and found all the oil rings frozen, #8 cyl was the worst.
After the rebuild I moved the PCY return to the middle of the intake as recommended by many on this forum.
