Leak?

I have a 97 Powerstroke. Hey guys have a quick question for you. I just got my Tymar intake today (can't wait to install it) and was looking under my hood and noticed both orange boots that connect the turbo, intake side, to the block have a little bit of oily grime on them. Not a lot but its there. Is this normal? Do I have a leak in those boots where they seal and do they need to be replaced. Your thoughts would be much appreciated.

A little grime is ok but major is bad will get worse over time because our crankcase vents into the cast aluminium intake pipe blowing oil through the motor. It will soften the hoses over time. That is what makes the grime it.

Alot including I have taking it out of the intake and ran a line to the back of the truck or into the exhaust search for ccv mod and you will get alot of info especially in NBS forum.

Hope you enjoy tymar intake have a homemade one and am very pleased.

yep normal. just like smuzz said oil from the crankcase vent seeps through and makes the mess. do a search for the ccv mod in the super duty powerstroke section and you will have enough read to keep you busy for days.
