I put a 99 IC in my 96. I also used the 99's pipes. I just bought a dual set of boots for each side up top and used two pieces of 3" muffler pipe cut 2" in length. I used a welding rod around each end of the pipes and welded the rods on. So, one boot went on the end of the stock IC pipe, then over the ridge made my the welding rod on the muffler pipe. With the other boot I went over the ridge of the welding rod on the other end of the 3" muffler pipe and connected it to the intake. I did the same on the other side. I doubled clamped all the joints and they haven't blown off yet! I can put out 25 psi max boost. Glenn

How much HP can you gain roughly by adding an intercooler?

minimal if any hp gain. it is more of a supporting mod to be able add more hp and keep egt's down. i am not an expert on ic's so somebody correct me if i am wrong.

it will add a little more horse power and torque because what it does is cool the air down that is coming from the turbo so you get denser air thus you get more air molecules into the combustion chamber. i believe that if you put a 99 on a 97 you should get 20 to 30 more horse
