Well I went ahead and did it, went to the local NAPA store yesterday and bought a 6637 filter. Only took about 15 minutes to pull the stick airbox and get the 6637 filter all hooked up. Somewhat of a tight fit getting the stock tube to fir over the 6637 filter, but with a little patience it will stretch over it. The sound is way cool! I can even hear the turbo continue to spin now after the engine is shut off.
Intersting thing... after I pulled my stock box off, I put the old filter back in it and buttoned it back up. It was a nice sunny day out, so I held it up to the sun and looked through the hole. I could see daylight... so mine wasn't sealing properly either.
I also just received my WW from BlackCloud and am waiting for my oversize pedestal O-rings to arrive this week. So I will have another project next weekend!
I think I had a harder time getting the stock clamp to fit then I did getting the stock tube to fit over the filter. All worked though. I am looking forward to getting the WW on. My wife was pretty 'ho-hum' about me doing anything to the Ex.... until I let her drive the 'test drive' after the filter. Now she is hassling me to get the WW on! She eve said... I quote... "Maybe we should get one of those 'tuner thingies' to give us more power" Maybe that could be a Valentine's day gift???

Wicked Wheel... or Superior Wheel.. it has alot of names. It is a compressor wheel off of the older Powerstroke motors. Has more of a 'whistle' sound to it and helps to eliminate soem of the problems with compressor surge. There are alot of people here that I am sure will chime in with more info and experience then me!
Whats the WW? whicked wheel? what is that a different turbo fan or? what? what does it do? and how hard is it to do?
Use the search function at the top-right of the thread. You'll find pleanty of info on it, probably enough to keep you busy reading for hours... It's all been said before, and just waiting to be read. But, if you still have questions, feel free to ask.
I installed mine yesterday too and yup I can hear some jet airplane sounds now! haha! And it was a tight squeeze but she's on there.
Don't throw that filter restriction sensor in the trash! I just changed my filter the other day after about 8 months of usage. The filterminder never budged on mine but it was getting pretty gray. Those that live down some dusty trails have to worry about it more than me.
the first time i drove my truck after the wicked wheel, i had my dad with me and we both couldnt keep from grinning from ear to ear, kind of like this little guy --> the best time to hear it is going along in 3rd and just slowly add throttle and the boost will come right on up and post at 26psi on mine. that WW is hella-awesome at 25psi
